About Katy

Background & Experience

Sometimes we know something in our lives isn't working, but we don't quite know how to change it. We may find ourselves repeating the same patterns in relationships, struggling with anxiety or painful experiences from the past, or simply feeling disconnected from the life and relationships we want.

Katy's style as a therapist is warm, collaborative, and practical. She doesn't see herself as the expert on your life. Instead, she wants to help you understand yourself more clearly, recognize the strengths and resources you already have, and develop new ways of responding when old patterns aren't serving you anymore. She loves those moments in therapy when something suddenly makes sense and a client begins to see themselves or their situation differently.

She especially enjoys working with individuals and couples around relationships, anxiety, trauma, boundaries, self-worth, life transitions, and patterns that interfere with connection.

One of the things Katy values most about being a therapist is that she is continually learning too. The things she learns about connection, emotions, relationships, and being human often influence her own life, and she brings that genuine curiosity into the therapy room.

Katy is currently accepting new clients for in-person sessions in Utah County and telehealth throughout Utah.

Therapeutic Approach

Katy draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and trauma-focused approaches — adapting therapy to the needs of each person rather than expecting everyone to fit one model. Her goal isn't simply to help you feel better for an hour. She wants therapy to help you build a life and relationships in which you can connect more deeply, understand yourself more fully, and thrive.
